During a storefront redesign, banner images may not fit the new layout dimensions out of the box. With hundreds of banners across multiple breakpoints, sending everything to designers for manual rework is expensive and slow. In this article, I describe a practical approach using generative AI to automatically reformat existing banners to new resolutions — producing three breakpoint-specific variants (Desktop, Tablet, Mobile) from each source image for about a few cents per output. The results are good enough that 70-80% need no manual touch-up at all, and only the imperfect ones go back to designers — saving the bulk of the time and budget.
